Street Reach - a network of 8 summer day camps spread across 3 neighborhoods serving over 600 inner-city youth ages 3-14. As many as 500 volunteer adults, high school and college students from a seven-state area staff the camps during an eight-week summer schedule. Volunteers committed to community service are scheduled to serve at a day campsite for one week during the summer where they implement educational and recreational programs and activities for at-risk children. The day campsites are often vacant lots or backyards of BHM supporters and area residents.
