Emergency Services - clothes closet, food pantry, and spiritual & referral counseling program is operated year round. The program works in close cooperation with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA) to screen and serve Memphians in need. Various Memphis-area congregations donate clothing and serve as dedicated volunteers in the day-to-day operation of the ministry. BHM Emergency Services is the third largest volume MIFA food pantry site in Memphis on an annual basis and utilizes the services of over 100 volunteers from Memphis area churches serving over 1,500 families each year.
